Chinkara

The species is the mainstay of CBC and practically adorns the entire expanse.  Often seen in groups as well as scattered ones & twos, Chinkaras have steadily grown in population since their translocation from the Deer Breeding Centre in Rahim Yar Khan in 2015.  Their behaviour and habits are regularly studied and analysed by a team of professional Veterinary Officers available 24/7 in the Centre, through daily observation during tours and camera traps at selected points.  Over the years, staff employed for administration and maintenance has also been educated and trained to report sightings and observations of species’ activity regularly.  A well-equipped laboratory at the Research Centre can handle morbidity and perform autopsy while also serving as a platform for Students and Research associates to undertake purposeful study.
