In May 2023 Houbara Foundation assisted a survey led by Mr Vincent Lieron  and a representative ex-IFHC in CBC, to determine presence of this rare species in Cholistan Desert.  The teams jointly explored multiple sites in CBC habitat, Marot, Mojgarh and Lal Sohanra but following exhaustive efforts only a pair was captured from Bahuwala Toba for further research and trials including breeding in Morocco and Kazakhstan.
